Holland RST, a rehabilitative seating technology service, was created as a separate division of Holland Health Services in 2001. Originally a part of Holland Homecare in Bellingham, it was moved to Mount Vernon to better serve the counties of Skagit and Snohomish in addition to Whatcom. Well-trained specialists aid physical therapists in the assessment of patients for custom-built wheelchairs. Basic chairs, both manual and power, are adapted to specific patient needs by the assembly of seating, positioning, and cushioning devices. The team at Holland RST has the expertise to aid patients with extreme medical conditions to achieve an improved quality of life and an extended prognosis. In addition to the basic requirements of custom wheel, extensions, and caregiver aids, the team specializes in power wheelchairs with custom-programmed electronic controls. Holland RST strives to provide patients with greater mobility, independence, and dignity through the use of adaptive technology products.
